BLACK BACKING

The use of a black backing fabric is fundamental to imaging quality. Absorbing spurious light reflections coming from rear or surrounding walls it prevents image blurring, this being its first obvious function.

Intensive tests, made by comparing various black backing fabrics and even solid surfaces made clear that the image contrast was highly dependent on the black backing opacity and mattness.

It has therefore appeared that a highly opaque black backing layer would be essential to a high imaging quality. Our Black Backing fabric is providing both a high degree of acoustic transparency and the ultimate light opacity. We also use it for TAM screens motorized curtains.
